Clinic

The Beemer Medical Clinic, a satellite of the Pender Medical Clinic, is staffed by one family practice physician and one physician assistant Tuesday mornings from 8:30 until 12:30 and Friday afternoons from 1:00 until 5:00. Prescriptions can be filled in West Point and Wisner.

Rescue Squad and Fire Department

The Beemer Volunteer Fire Department owns two fully equipped rescue units and has Emergency Medical Technicians on call at all times to respond to medical emergencies. The fire department maintains a roster of at least 27 members.

Local and Regional Medical Services

Residents of Beemer have a wide variety of medical services available in our region which include Pender Community Hospital, 18 miles northwest of Beemer and St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, 9 miles from Beemer. Other frequently used hospitals in the area are located in Norfolk, Fremont, Sioux City, Omaha and Lincoln.

Dentists are located in Wisner, Pender, Bancroft, Dodge, West Point and Scribner. Chiropractors are in Wisner and West Point as well as Fremont, Norfolk, Omaha and Lincoln. Optometrists are in Wisner, West Point and surrounding towns and cities.

Nursing Homes

Colonial Haven, a 43-bed skilled nursing facility, offers complete nursing care and is a state accredited nursing facility licensed by Medicare. Colonial Courts, a 12-bed addition to Colonial Haven, offers an assisted living opportunity.

The average cost of new home construction for the past five years has been $75,000. Approximately 80 percent of the 270 homes in the community are owner-occupied.

Low�Cost�and/or�Retirement�Housing

The Elkhorn Valley Apartments, built in 1971, contains 18 one-bedroom and 2 two-bedroom units for low-income families. Elkhorn Valley Courts has 12 one-bedroom units for low-to moderate-income families. Community rooms are available to the tenants and the community. Elkhorn Valley Courts, built in 1979 has twelve one-bedroom units for low to moderate income families.

Don Petersen from Fremont and Northeast Realty from Pender also handle home sales in Beemer. At the present time there are several houses for sale in Beemer. The last new home was constructed in 2000 . Homes can also be had in the country around Beemer. There are also condominiums located at Par Acres which is on the Indian Trails Country Club golf course. Korvue apartments has 6 apartments to rent.

Utilities

Cuming County Public Power District provides retail electricity to the Village of Beemer. Cuming County Public Power District (CCPPD) also provides power to Bancroft and Dodge in addition to the rural residents of Cuming County.
